Mating Sea Angels
It's Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday if your calendar leans liturgical as mine does. The above photo is of two sea angels mating. They remind me of Andre Leon Talley's magnificent outerware robes.
SARTORIAL GOAL |
I'm getting ashed and musing on my loved ones with a metta practice (and perhaps sneaking in one last piece of chocolate cake before Lent when my discipline is to stop yelling and eating so much cake). I'm getting ashed. Here's why. The opinion of my college poetry professor was that love and death are the only ever the true topics of poetry. So O perfect coincidence! is this day. Love and Death Co-abiding, would be a great title for a hymn.
"I"M NOT AN ANGEL LIKE YOU THINK" |
The two sea angels mating is really beautiful. Ethereal and corporeal. That's how today feels. I'm going to die one day, we all are, even the sea angels and that bums me out -- to use '90s Olympic halfpipe commentator slang. But while I'm here I going to live loving and love living RuPaul's Divine Mystical Wisdom as a spiritual being having a human experience on a space ball covered mostly by water in which there are angels swimming.
